The Taj East Gate Area (Taj Ganj) is the bustling traveller district that has grown up around the eastern entrance to the Taj Mahal. Its narrow lanes are packed with budget guesthouses, rooftop cafés, souvenir shops, and street-food stalls.
Sadar Bazaar is the commercial backbone of modern Agra — a bustling stretch of shops, sweet stalls and chai vendors radiating from the Sadar area near the cantonment. Unlike the tourist-oriented lanes near the Taj, Sadar serves local residents and offers a genuine slice of north-Indian market life.

Taj Nagri Phase II is a developing residential neighbourhood southeast of the Taj Mahal where traditional marble artisans and craftspeople live and work. Several rooftop cafés and guesthouses in the area offer panoramic views of the monument.

Tajganj is the artisan quarter that clusters behind the southern gate of the Taj Mahal. For centuries its lanes have been home to families practising pietra dura — the Mughal art of stone inlay that gives the Taj its floral marble panels.
