Vitosha Nature Park is a vast mountain wilderness rising directly above Sofia, making the Bulgarian capital one of the few European cities with a major mountain literally at its doorstep. Covering over 27,000 hectares, the park offers year-round outdoor activities from hiking and skiing to picnicking and wildlife watching.
Borisova Gradina (Boris's Garden) is Sofia's oldest and most beloved park, created in 1884. Spanning 360 hectares, it is a green sanctuary in the centre of the city with lakes, sports facilities, and mature tree-lined avenues.

Doctors' Garden (Dokterskata gradina) is a tranquil central garden honouring the Bulgarian army doctors who served during the Russo-Turkish War. Located near the Eagles' Bridge, it's a quiet retreat from the busy boulevards around it.

South Park (Yuzhen Park) stretches over 400 hectares from the National Palace of Culture toward the slopes of Vitosha Mountain. One of Sofia's largest green spaces, it's a favourite for joggers, dog walkers, and families.
