South Park (Yuzhen Park) stretches over 400 hectares from the National Palace of Culture toward the slopes of Vitosha Mountain. One of Sofia's largest green spaces, it's a favourite for joggers, dog walkers, and families.
Developed in the 1930s and expanded in the socialist era, South Park was conceived as a green corridor linking the city centre to Vitosha Mountain. Its informal, naturalistic design contrasts with the more manicured Borisova Gradina.
