The International Spy Museum is the only public museum in the United States dedicated to the tradecraft, history, and contemporary role of espionage. It moved to a purpose-built facility at L'Enfant Plaza in 2019, tripling its exhibition space.
Founded by Milton Maltz and opened in 2002 in a renovated building in Penn Quarter. The museum's advisory board has included former CIA, FBI, and NSA directors. The 2019 move to a 140,000-square-foot facility was designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners.
