History

Built in 1925 by sugar magnate John D. Spreckels, Belmont Park was the centerpiece of Mission Beach. After decades of decline and near-demolition, the Giant Dipper was restored in 1990 and the park was revitalized.

Visitor Tips

• The Giant Dipper is a must-ride for coaster fans — the ocean views from the top are incredible.
