Lan Su Chinese Garden

Overview

Lan Su Chinese Garden is an authentic Ming Dynasty–style garden in Portland's Old Town, designed and built by 65 artisans from Suzhou, Portland's Chinese sister city. Every rock, plant, and architectural element was imported from China.

History

The garden opened in 2000 after five years of planning and construction. It was a collaboration between Portland and Suzhou, with the name "Lan Su" combining characters from both cities (PortLANd and SUzhou).

• Visit in different seasons — the garden is designed to look beautiful year-round.
