Philadelphia's Chinatown is a vibrant 6-block enclave anchored by the iconic Friendship Gate, the largest Chinese gate in the U.S. at 12 meters tall. The neighborhood offers some of the city's best dim sum, pho, and hand-pulled noodles.
Chinese immigrants settled in the area beginning in the 1870s. The neighborhood has survived multiple threats from highway construction and the Convention Center expansion. The Friendship Gate, gifted by Philadelphia's sister city Tianjin, was dedicated in 1984.
