Wekiwa Springs State Park is a 7,800-acre natural area 20 miles north of Orlando, centered around a crystal-clear, 72°F first-magnitude spring. Visitors can swim in the spring run, kayak the Wekiva River, and hike 13 miles of trails.
The Timucua people lived along Wekiwa Springs for thousands of years. The state acquired the land in 1969, and it was designated a state park in 1970 to protect the spring and surrounding ecosystems.
