Gatorland is a 110-acre wildlife theme park south of Orlando that has been showcasing alligators, crocodiles, and other Florida wildlife since 1949. Known as the "Alligator Capital of the World," it offers a more intimate, old-Florida alternative to major theme parks.
Founded by Owen Godwin in 1949, Gatorland is one of Central Florida's oldest attractions, predating Walt Disney World by 22 years. It survived a devastating fire in 2006 and was rebuilt with expanded exhibits.
