Overview
Mardi Gras World is a working warehouse where Blaine Kern Artists build the enormous floats used in Carnival parades. Visitors can walk among the props, try on costumes, and watch artisans at work.

History
Blaine Kern, known as "Mr. Mardi Gras," began building floats in 1947 at age 19. Kern Studios has since created floats for over 40 parades and events worldwide.
Visitor Tips
- Tip 1: Best visited outside of Carnival season when the workshop is busiest.
- Tip 2: Free shuttle from the French Quarter is available.
