Audubon Zoo

Overview

Audubon Zoo is a 58-acre zoo in Uptown New Orleans, home to over 2,000 animals and set among century-old live oak trees. The Louisiana Swamp exhibit is a standout.

History

Originating from an 1884 World's Fair exhibit, the zoo became part of the Audubon Nature Institute in the 1970s and underwent a major transformation from a poorly maintained facility.
