Washington Park — "Wash Park" to locals — is a beloved 161-acre urban park in south-central Denver. Its twin lakes, flower gardens, and 4-km recreational loop make it the city's most popular neighborhood park.
Created in 1899, the park was designed by landscape architect Reinhard Schuetze with an emphasis on the City Beautiful aesthetic. The historic boathouse on Smith Lake dates to 1913 and was recently restored.
