Overview

Circuit of the Americas (COTA) is a world-class motorsport and entertainment complex in southeast Austin. It is the only purpose-built Formula 1 circuit in the United States and hosts the U.S. Grand Prix along with major concerts and events.

History

Opened in 2012, COTA was designed by renowned circuit architect Hermann Tilke. The track features elevation changes inspired by famous corners from circuits around the world. Its amphitheater has hosted acts from Taylor Swift to the Rolling Stones.

Visitor Tips

• Book F1 tickets months in advance — the event regularly sells out.
• COTA Karting lets visitors race go-karts on a scaled version of the track year-round.
• Duration: 2–4 hours.
