Playa Tortugas sits at Km 6.5 of the Hotel Zone, a lively public beach known for its calm, swimmable waters and proximity to bars, restaurants, and the Isla Mujeres ferry terminal. It's one of the most family-friendly beach spots in Cancún.
Named for the sea turtles (tortugas) that once nested extensively along this stretch, the beach has been a public gathering point since Cancún's Hotel Zone was first developed in the 1970s.
