Overview

A compact municipal museum in downtown Cancún dedicated to preserving and sharing the cultural heritage of the Maya people. Rotating exhibitions cover topics from ancient cosmology and writing systems to contemporary Maya art and identity.

History

Established in the early 2000s by the municipal government to give downtown visitors an alternative to Hotel Zone attractions, the museum partners with INAH (Mexico's National Institute of Anthropology) for its rotating exhibitions.
