Jashil Bazaar

Overview

Jashil Bazaar is Bishkek's main produce market, a sprawling indoor-outdoor complex where vendors sell mountains of dried apricots, walnuts, honey, kymyz (fermented mare's milk), and traditional Kyrgyz bread.

History

The bazaar has operated on this site since the Soviet era; rebuilt and expanded in the 2000s.
