The Fayzulla Khodjaev House Museum is a beautifully preserved 19th-century merchant's mansion that reveals the lavish private lives of Bukhara's pre-revolutionary merchant elite. The house features ornate reception rooms, courtyards, and a traditional harem section.
The house belonged to the Khodjaev family, wealthy Bukharan merchants. Fayzulla Khodjaev (1896–1938) became the first leader of Soviet Uzbekistan but was later executed during Stalin's purges. The house was converted into a museum in the 1970s, preserving an authentic example of upper-class Bukharan domestic architecture.
