Overview
The Kaohsiung Exhibition Center is a waterfront convention facility in the Asia New Bay Area, recognisable by its continuous wave-shaped roof that mirrors the adjacent Music Center. Completed in 2014, it serves as the city's primary trade-show and conference venue.
Highlights
- Wave-Form Roof: The undulating roofline was designed to evoke ocean waves, unifying the building with the nearby Music Center and harbour landscape.
- Harbourfront Plaza: The esplanade in front of the centre is used for seasonal markets, food festivals, and open-air concerts.
- Night View: At night the building is illuminated with changing LED colours that reflect in the harbour water.
History
Designed by Ling Architects and completed in 2014, the Exhibition Center was one of the first major buildings in the Asia New Bay Area redevelopment masterplan. It replaced the city's ageing industrial exposure hall and raised Kaohsiung's profile as a MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions) destination.
Visitor Tips

- Tip 2: Combine with the adjacent Music Center and Main Public Library for an architecture walk.
