Flight of the Gibbon

Overview

Flight of the Gibbon is a zipline and canopy-walk adventure set in a patch of ancient rainforest about 50 km east of Chiang Mai. Participants fly between treetop platforms via steel cables up to 300 metres long, with the chance to spot wild gibbons, hornbills, and leaf monkeys.

• Ziplines: Over 30 platforms connected by cables, sky bridges, and abseil descents through the jungle canopy.
• Wildlife: The forests are home to wild white-handed gibbons and great hornbills.

History

Flight of the Gibbon launched in 2007 with a focus on sustainable ecotourism. A portion of proceeds supports gibbon rehabilitation projects and reforestation in the surrounding national park buffer zone.

• Book in advance: Includes hotel pick-up from Chiang Mai; transfers take about 75 minutes each way.
• Age/weight limits: Minimum age 4; maximum weight 120 kg.
• Duration: Full day including transport (4 hours on-site).
