Wyspa Słodowa (Malt Island) is a small river island between Cathedral Island and the city center that has become a popular gathering spot for students and residents. In warm months, it fills with picnickers, musicians, and impromptu socializing.
Historically used for malt production (hence the name), the island served various industrial purposes over the centuries. Its transformation into a public space accelerated after Wrocław became European Capital of Culture in 2016.
