Overview
Bob's Peak (790m) is the prominent hill directly above Queenstown township, accessible by the Skyline Gondola or a steep walking track. The summit offers one of the most accessible panoramic viewpoints in the region.

History
The peak is named after Robert (Bob) Thomson, an early settler who ran sheep on the hillside. The first gondola was built here in 1967, transforming the summit from a challenging hike into Queenstown's signature tourist attraction.
Visitor Tips
- Tiki Trail: The free walking track from the base takes about 60–90 minutes and is steep but well maintained.
- Stargazing: On clear nights, the summit offers excellent views of the Southern Cross and Milky Way.
- Duration: 30–60 minutes at the top.
