Tanjung Rhu is widely regarded as Langkawi's most beautiful beach — a pristine crescent of powdery white sand on the island's northeastern tip, backed by towering casuarina (rhu) trees and flanked by dramatic limestone formations. The shallow, crystal-clear water and remote setting make it far quieter than the west coast beaches.
Tanjung Rhu's name means 'Cape of Casuarina Trees' in Malay. The beach remained relatively undeveloped until the opening of the Four Seasons Resort in 2005, which brought international attention while keeping the area's natural character largely intact.
