Overview
The Mongolian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet is a grand Soviet-era performance venue on Chinggis Khaan Square, staging Mongolian and international opera, ballet, and classical-music productions throughout the season.

History
The theatre was established in 1931 with Soviet technical assistance and moved to its current purpose-built building in 1949. It has trained generations of Mongolian opera singers and ballet dancers, many of whom have gone on to international careers.
