The Incheon Landing Operation Memorial Hall honours the September 15, 1950 amphibious assault that recaptured Seoul from North Korean forces and turned the tide of the Korean War. Set on a hillside overlooking the landing beaches, the museum presents military hardware, multimedia re-enactments, and personal testimonies from veterans of 16 UN nations.
The landing was conceived by General MacArthur despite enormous tidal risks — Incheon's 9-metre tides gave only a narrow window. The operation involved 75,000 troops and 261 ships. The memorial hall opened in 1984 and was expanded in 2016.
