Incheon Bridge is South Korea's longest cable-stayed bridge, stretching 21.4 kilometres across the Yellow Sea between Songdo and Yeongjong Island (home to Incheon International Airport). Its elegant 230-metre-tall twin pylons and sweeping cable fans have made it an icon of modern Korean infrastructure.
Opened in October 2009, the bridge was built to provide a direct expressway link between the airport and southern Incheon. Construction took six years and involved innovative techniques to handle the area's extreme tidal range.
