Sapporo Teine is a ski resort on Mount Teine, just 40 minutes from downtown Sapporo by car. The mountain hosted the alpine, bobsled, and toboggan events during the 1972 Winter Olympics and today offers 15 courses across two zones: Highland (advanced, Olympic-grade runs) and Olympia (beginner and intermediate). Night skiing is available.
Mount Teine was selected as the alpine venue for the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics. The resort was modernized in 2010 with new lifts and snowmaking equipment. It continues to host national and regional ski competitions.
