Nopporo Forest Park (Nopporo Shinrin Koen) is a 2,053-hectare natural forest park spanning Sapporo and the neighboring city of Ebetsu. It preserves one of the largest remaining tracts of lowland forest near Sapporo and contains the Hokkaido Museum, the Historical Village of Hokkaido, and a 100-year memorial tower. The park offers hiking trails through dense birch and oak forest.
The forest was designated a protected area in 1968 to preserve the lowland ecosystem that once covered the Ishikari Plain. The park was formally established in 1970 as part of Hokkaido's centennial celebrations. It remains jointly managed by Sapporo and Ebetsu.
