Overview
A 42-metre-high sandstone war memorial arch on Rajpath, designed by Edwin Lutyens in 1931 to commemorate the 70,000 Indian soldiers who died in World War I and the Third Anglo-Afghan War. It is one of Delhi's most iconic landmarks.

History
Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and completed in 1931, the arch bears the names of over 13,500 soldiers. The surrounding lawns became a national gathering point, particularly during Republic Day parades held every 26 January.
