M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is Bengaluru's premier international cricket venue and home ground of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL. Located in the heart of the city near Cubbon Park, its capacity of 40,000 makes match days a citywide event.
Built in 1969 and named after M. Chinnaswamy, former president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the stadium has hosted many memorable matches including India's 2011 World Cup quarter-final victory. It was renovated extensively ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup.
