Overview

Shanghai Disneyland is Disney's first theme park in mainland China and features the largest Enchanted Storybook Castle of any Disney park worldwide. Opened in 2016, it blends classic Disney magic with Chinese cultural elements across six themed lands.

History

The park opened on June 16, 2016, after a $5.5 billion investment. Unlike other Disney parks, Shanghai Disneyland was designed with a "distinctly Chinese" philosophy, incorporating feng shui principles and Chinese zodiac motifs.
