Fuxing Park is a French-style garden in the heart of the Former French Concession, originally laid out in 1909 as a private park for French residents. Today it pulses with local life — morning tai chi, afternoon chess, and evening ballroom dancing under the plane trees.
Built in 1909 as "Parc de la Concession Française," the park was opened to Chinese residents in 1928. It contains statues of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels erected in 1985.
