Lou Lim Ieoc Garden is a tranquil Suzhou-style Chinese garden hidden within the urban core of the Macau Peninsula. Originally a private estate, it features lotus ponds, zigzag bridges, bamboo groves, rockery, and traditional pavilions.
The garden was created in the 19th century by Lou Kau (the same merchant who built Lou Kau Mansion) and passed to his son Lou Lim Ieoc. The government acquired the garden in 1974 and opened it to the public in 1992. It has been the venue for the annual Macau Arts Festival since the 1980s.
