Ersha Island Art Walk

Overview

Ersha Island (二沙岛) is a leafy residential island in the Pearl River between the old city and Zhujiang New Town, known for its sculpture gardens, museums, and riverside running paths — a peaceful escape minutes from the CBD.

Highlights

• Sculpture Park: Over 30 contemporary outdoor sculptures set among gardens and lawns.
• Xinghai Concert Hall: Guangzhou's premier classical music venue, named after the composer Xian Xinghai.

History

Originally a sandbar, the island was reclaimed and developed in the 1990s as an upscale residential and cultural precinct. The Xinghai Concert Hall opened in 1998.

• Morning Run: Join locals on the 3-km riverside loop at sunrise.
