Streets Village (Zhaojiadu) is a quiet, unrestored ancient town on the outskirts of Chengdu, offering a glimpse into traditional Sichuan riverside life without the commercialization of better-known old towns. Wooden houses line the riverbank where locals fish and play mahjong.

History

Zhaojiadu dates back over 1,000 years as a river trading post on the western approaches to Chengdu. Unlike Jinli and Kuanzhai, it has undergone minimal commercial restoration, preserving its authentic village atmosphere.
