The Bell Tower is a landmark copper-and-glass spire rising 82.5 metres on Perth's Barrack Square waterfront. It houses the Swan Bells, a set of 18 bells that includes twelve medieval bells from the Church of St Martin-in-the-Fields, London — a gift to Australia for its bicentenary in 1988.
The six original bells were cast in the 14th century for St Martin-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar Square. They were gifted by the City of London and people of Britain in 1988. The tower was built specifically to house them and opened in December 2000.
