Roma Street Parkland is the world's largest subtropical garden within a city centre, covering 16 hectares of themed gardens, water features, and public art just north of Brisbane's CBD. It was built on the former Roma Street rail yards.
The parkland opened in 2001, transforming disused railway yards into an award-winning urban garden. The $100 million project was one of Queensland's largest urban renewal initiatives and won multiple international landscape architecture awards.
