Overview
The National Museum of History is Bulgaria's largest museum, home to over 650,000 objects spanning from prehistoric times to the modern era. It is housed in the former Communist-era state residence in the Boyana neighbourhood at the foot of Vitosha Mountain.

History
Founded in 1973, the museum moved to the Boyana residence in 2000. Its collections draw from excavations across Bulgaria and include Thracian, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman-era artifacts.
