Overview
Pura Lempuyang Luhur is one of Bali's six most sacred directional temples, set at over 1,000 meters on the slopes of Mount Lempuyang in eastern Bali. Its Gates of Heaven frame a stunning view of Mount Agung.

History
Lempuyang is considered one of Bali's oldest temples, with origins predating most Hindu temples on the island. It is one of the six sad kahyangan, the holiest temples representing Bali's spiritual pillars.
Visitor Tips
- Queue Warning: The photo queue at the Gates of Heaven can exceed 2 hours; arrive at opening.
- Full Trek: The full seven-temple trail takes 3–4 hours and requires moderate fitness.
- Duration: 1.5–2 hours (main gate only) or 4+ hours (full trek).
