ICONSIAM

Overview

ICONSIAM is a US$1.65 billion riverside mega-mall that opened in 2018 on the Thonburi bank of the Chao Phraya River. Its centrepiece is SookSiam, an indoor recreation of a Thai floating market, alongside 525 luxury and lifestyle retail outlets.

Highlights

• SookSiam: A vast indoor cultural marketplace featuring regional Thai cuisine, handicrafts, and a water-filled canal with floating vendor boats.
• Riverside Terrace: A 400-metre waterfront promenade with fountain shows every 30 minutes after sunset.
• Apple Store: Thailand's first Apple Store, a stunning glass pavilion floating over the river.

History

Developed by Siam Piwat and Charoen Pokphand Group, ICONSIAM opened in November 2018. The complex includes two residential towers — Magnolias Waterfront Residences — among the tallest buildings in the Thonburi skyline.

Visitor Tips

• Free shuttle boat: Departs every 10 minutes from Saphan Taksin BTS pier.
• Fountain show: The multimedia river fountain show runs every 30 minutes from 18:30 to 21:00.
• Duration: 1.5–2 hours.
