Overview
The Saloma Link is a 69-metre pedestrian bridge spanning the Klang River between Kampung Baru and the KLCC area. Its twisting steel canopy, inspired by the sirih junjung (a Malay ceremonial betel-leaf arrangement), is illuminated nightly in changing LED colours.
Highlights
- LED light show: The bridge's lattice canopy cycles through blue, purple, and gold lighting sequences.
- Petronas Towers view: The bridge offers an excellent framing of the Twin Towers, especially from the Kampung Baru end.
- Pedestrian convenience: A vital shortcut turning a 20-minute walk into a 5-minute crossing.
History
Named after P. Saloma, a beloved 1960s Malay film star, the bridge was completed in 2020. It was designed by Perbadanan Pembangunan Kampong Bharu to improve connectivity and stimulate development.
Visitor Tips
- After dark: The LED lighting is only active from dusk to midnight.
- Photography: Best shot from riverside level looking up at the illuminated canopy.
- Duration: 10–20 minutes.
