Overview
Mazda Zoom-Zoom Stadium (officially MAZDA Stadium) is the beloved home of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, one of Japanese baseball's most passionately supported teams. The open-air ballpark is consistently rated among the best in Japan.
Highlights
- Carp Fever: Hiroshima's passionate red-clad fans create an electric atmosphere with synchronized cheering, balloon releases, and fight songs.
- BBQ Terraces: Unique rooftop barbecue seating areas let fans grill while watching the game — unlike any other stadium in Japan.
- Food: Stadium food includes local specialties like Hiroshima okonomiyaki, grilled oysters, and draft Kirin beer.
History
Opened in 2009, replacing the aging Municipal Stadium. The Carp's name refers to Hiroshima Castle's nickname (Carp Castle) and symbolizes the city's resilience — the carp that swims upstream.
