Mercado de Triana is a food market built inside the ruins of the Castle of San Jorge—formerly the seat of the Spanish Inquisition. Fresh seafood, Ibérico ham, and gourmet tapas counters occupy the stalls.
The Castle of San Jorge served as the Inquisition's tribunal from 1481. Demolished in the 19th century, its ruins were discovered during market construction.
