Beaches in Cape Town

Muizenberg Beach is famous for its row of brightly painted Victorian bathing boxes and its consistently gentle waves, making it Cape Town's premier surf spot for beginners. Located on the warmer False Bay coast, the water is significantly warmer than the Atlantic side.

Camps Bay is Cape Town's most glamorous beach, a long sweep of white sand lapped by turquoise Atlantic waters and backed by the dramatic granite peaks of the Twelve Apostles mountain range. The palm-lined promenade buzzes with trendy cafés.

Clifton's four sheltered coves, separated by granite boulders, are among the most exclusive and beautiful beaches in Africa. Protected from the wind by Lion's Head, the beaches are numbered 1st through 4th, each with its own character.
