Attractions in Rotterdam

De Rotterdam is a 150-metre-tall mixed-use complex designed by Rem Koolhaas / OMA, completed in 2013. Three interconnected towers shift at different heights, creating a vertical city housing offices, apartments, a hotel, and restaurants.

The SS Rotterdam is a retired Holland America Line ocean liner permanently moored in the Katendrecht harbour. Built in 1959, it was the flagship of the Dutch merchant fleet and is now a hotel, restaurant, and museum.

Kinderdijk is a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring 19 iconic 18th-century windmills along a polder waterway, about 15 km east of Rotterdam. It is the most concentrated collection of historic windmills in the Netherlands.

Rotterdam Centraal Station is a dramatic modernist transport hub reopened in 2014, featuring a pointed stainless-steel entrance canopy that has become an icon of the city. Designed by a trio of firms: Benthem Crouwel, MVSA, and West 8.

The Grote of Sint-Laurenskerk is Rotterdam's only surviving medieval building, a late-Gothic church originally built between 1449 and 1525. Severely damaged in the 1940 bombing, it was meticulously restored and reopened in 1952.

Hotel New York is a landmark waterfront building that served as the former headquarters of the Holland America Line. Millions of European emigrants passed through this building en route to the Americas. It is now a hotel and grand café.

The Luchtsingel is a 390-metre-long bright yellow pedestrian bridge connecting three previously disconnected areas of northern Rotterdam. Crowdfunded by citizens, it was the first infrastructure project in the world financed through public donations.

Miniworld Rotterdam is the largest indoor miniature world in the Benelux, featuring detailed scale models of Rotterdam and the surrounding region. It covers 535 m² and includes a functioning day-night cycle.

Oude Haven (Old Harbour) is Rotterdam's original harbour basin, dating to 1350. Today it is a picturesque yacht harbour surrounded by cafés where historic boats are moored beneath the Cube Houses and the White House — Rotterdam's first skyscraper.
