Activities in Nara

Traditional Japanese ink painting (sumi-e) workshops in Naramachi offer visitors a hands-on experience with this centuries-old art form. Led by local artists in converted townhouses, these sessions introduce the meditative discipline of creating art with just ink, water, and a bamboo brush.
