Place Garibaldi is a grand Piemontese-style arcaded square at the northern edge of Vieux Nice, honouring the revolutionary hero who was born here. Ochre facades with green shutters frame the square on all sides, sheltering café terraces and the Musée Masséna annex.

The Promenade des Anglais is Nice's iconic 7 km seafront boulevard, sweeping along the Baie des Anges from the airport to Castle Hill. Named after the English aristocrats who funded it in 1820, it's the Riviera's most famous walkway.

Place Masséna is Nice's grand central square, connecting the Old Town to the modern city. Its red ochre buildings with arcades, the Fontaine du Soleil, and seven resin figures on poles (Jaume Plensa's 'Conversation à Nice') create a memorable composition.

The Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate anchors the eastern side of Place Rossetti in the heart of Vieux Nice. Built in the 17th century, its Baroque interior conceals richly ornamented chapels, gilded stucco and a dome inspired by Roman models.

The Monastère de Cimiez is a 16th-century Franciscan friary set in a magnificent rose garden on the Cimiez hilltop. Henri Matisse is buried in the adjacent cemetery, his grave marked by a simple stone.
