3 beaches selected in this guide.

La Concha is widely regarded as one of the best urban beaches in Europe, stretching 1,350 metres along a near-perfect crescent of golden sand between Monte Urgull and Monte Igueldo. Its calm, shallow waters and elegant Belle Époque promenade have drawn visitors since the Spanish royal court made San Sebastián its summer capital in the 19th century.

Ondarreta is the most westerly of San Sebastián's three main beaches, sitting between the Miramar Palace and the Peine del Viento sculptures. It offers a quieter, more family-friendly atmosphere than La Concha while sharing the same bay.

Zurriola is San Sebastián's surfer beach, a wide stretch of sand east of the Urumea River in the Gros neighbourhood. Unlike the sheltered La Concha, Zurriola faces the open Atlantic and receives consistent swell, making it the go-to spot for surfers and a younger, alternative crowd.
