Cala Major is a popular urban beach nestled between rocky headlands just west of the city centre. Backed by pine-covered hills and close to the Miró Foundation, it offers accessible swimming and a local, unfussy atmosphere.

Platja de Palma is a sweeping 6-kilometre arc of fine white sand stretching from Can Pastilla to S'Arenal along the southern edge of the Bay of Palma. Backed by a cycling promenade and dotted with chiringuitos, it is the city's principal beach.
