Markets in Chengdu

Chengdu's Sansheng Flower Market is one of China's largest wholesale flower and plant markets, spanning several acres with thousands of vendors selling tropical plants, bonsai, orchids, garden supplies, and seasonal flowers.

Each March and April, the foothills of the Longquan Mountains east of Chengdu blush pink with peach blossoms. Local farmers set up temporary market stalls selling fresh peaches, blossom honey and wildflower arrangements.

The Qingshi Bridge Morning Market is a disappearing slice of old Chengdu. From dawn until mid-morning, vendors spread fresh produce, flowers and street breakfast (jianbing, doujiang, baozi) along the narrow streets of this residential neighbourhood.
