*(Note: The studio is temporarily closed for renovations until early 2026.)* The Brett Whiteley Studio in Surry Hills preserves the working studio of Australia's most celebrated modern painter (1939–1992). Managed by the Art Gallery of NSW, it displays Whiteley's paintings, drawings, and personal objects in the raw, light-filled space where he created them.

Carriageworks is a multi-arts centre housed in repurposed Victorian railway workshops in Eveleigh. The cavernous spaces host art exhibitions, performances, fashion shows and weekend farmers' markets that have become one of Sydney's most popular Saturday-morning rituals.

White Rabbit Gallery is a private museum in Chippendale dedicated to contemporary Chinese art from the 21st century. The collection of over 2,800 works spans painting, sculpture, video and installation, displayed across four floors of a converted warehouse.
